Every participant must own their own copy of The New Hexagon Blocks will be made as 4 inch hexagons. If you are copying your own blocks from the book you will have to copy them at 133% onto 67-pound paper this paper is about half way between letter paper and card stock. All of my quilt-lets will be big-stitch quilted with threads in an 8 wt variegated cotton. Blocks on the Go, For Quilts on the Grow is a 12 month program starting in January, 2016. Fabric is NOT included. You will need to purchase The New Hexagon book from Bella Fabrics for the instructions each month. Each month you will receive enough English Paper Pieces to create 4 or 5 blocks. The price for each month's Piece Pack will cost $6.00 Acrylic Fabric Cutting Templates are HIGHLY suggested but are not necessary to complete the quilt. Learn how to make a really cool sculptural basket out of clothesline and your sewing machine. The first will be made of clothesline and a light cotton thread, which we will dye with with some easy to apply dyes. The 2nd basket will be wrapped in fabric - demo in class, then stitched at home afterwards. During class the first basket will be completed and dyed, and you will learn how to wrap the clothesline for the 2nd basket to complete at home. More fun thatn you should be able to have with your sewing machine!

One day Class where we learn how to add an extra element to the basic log cabin blocks - thick & thin strips creating the illusion of curves while still using straight piecing. We'll learn to make the basic curved block, which could be applied to many different types of quilts. Bubbles, beads or swirls are possible. A positive/negative table runner will be emphasized during class.

Always looking for your basic sewing supplies? Make a sewing case so you can find your favorite sewing tools. An essential case. That's handy to take to class, Bee, or a quilting get together. Class is Free with the purchase of a kit at Bella Fabrics This is an all day class, with a break for lunch. The project will be completed by the end of the day, except for hand stitching the 2nd half of the binding. Spend the first couple of hours playing with your sewing machine stitches, the ones you don't normally use! The next part of the day will be wallet construction. Log Cabin Blocks can be traced back to the 1800's - during the time of Abraham Lincoln where they made reference to the log cabin of his origin. The red center square can symbolize the fireplace as the center of the cabin. This wall - hanging is a fun way to use many dark and many light scraps.

Three-rail quilt. If you've done a beginning quilt class and want to get a back into quilting but don't want to go back to the basics this is the class for you. You will be putting together strip sets for your fence rails, adding them to a focal fabric. We'll add an inner and outer5 border, put the backing together and you'll have a quilt top that is ready to have our long-arm quilters to quilt for you. Must have your own sewing machine. I don't know about al of you, but I have wanted to do another sampler quilt ever since I did my first one my beginning quilt class ages ago. Reacquaint yourself with churn n' dash, friendship star, flying geese and others in this fat quarter, scrap friendly quilt. There will be five classes. We will do three block per class and the fifth class we'll complete the top by adding border and preparing your backing so your quilt can be left for our long=arm quilters to quilt for you. The easiest way to cut a charm square is into two halves to make two rectangles. This sewing pattern then steps these pieces to create a zig-zag effect throughout the quilt. Use plain fabrics for a simple geometric design or varied patterned fabric for something a bit more lively and less rigid
